Apricot Blush Album Announcement 2018

Apricot Blush has announced new music to arrive May 2018. The band’s second full-length offering, “Where Blew a Flower, May a Flower No More,” will be available May 12.

Apricot Blush is soaked in a DIY aesthetic more pure than its members’ matching white dress shirts. The band combines a college dorm room singalong with a front porch family jam. The live performances are an ethereal experience, with crowds of young people, many with an “X” drawn on their hands, standing or swaying arm-in-arm, shouting the words to these emerging anthems of young adulthood. It’s not a closed session, however; they are poised to draw listeners of any age with their timeless melodies, sonic and visual folk aesthetic, and bubbling ambition.

The project is the curation of leader Jackson Wise. Wise is the primary vocalist and guitarist, though he also provides drums, bass guitar and even a singing saw. The lineup of the group has expanded, but at the core of Apricot Blush are Wise’s attempts to grasp the reins of young adulthood. This struggle is the outline of the self-titled 2016 release in which Wise explores sexuality and young human life. In response to being sexually assaulted, Wise attempted to isolate from such connections and sexual pursuits in order to realign himself spiritually and emotionally. The album is clear, with a strong range from fear and guilt to pride and lust, but with a pure and honest vein running throughout.

While the upcoming release will surely veer into subject matter from the latter concept album, it is these primal urges and emotions that will surely fuel the content.
The primal adolescent urges and emotions behind their first album will surely backlight their new release, while taking on further challenges of adulthood.
The band has honed its live sound with a revolving door of musicians that evoke that family-style sentiment. The upcoming work from Apricot Blush is slated to present itself as a time capsule for this generation — the Pablo Generation; a summer-drenched mixtape of moments that will put a tear in your eye, a smile on your face, and a blush in your cheeks.
