Atlanta’s Sixth Jabroni Fest to Benefit Girls Rock

By: Loren Powell

This Friday and Saturday, check out tons of great bands for just a little scratch at Jabroni Fest 6. Shehehe, Bad Hit Combo, Boo Hag, Dollar Signs, and others from Atlanta and all over the Southeast will be hitting the stage at 529 Bar in the East Atlanta Village. Doors open Friday night at 7:30, with Taped Fist, Joy Kills, Canopy, and seven other bands. Saturday kicks off a bit earlier with 4pm doors and a whopping 16 band bill—for just $7 for each day, or $12 for the weekend pass. A crazy deal, and for a great cause too; The fest is a charity event, with proceeds benefiting Girls Rock Athens.

Girls Rock Athens is a rock n’ roll summer camp that offers young people ages 9-15 the opportunity to learn not only how to play an instrument and work collaboratively to write a song, but also teaches them about the diverse contributions from many marginalized groups of people throughout the history of music. They also offer different workshops through the year, including a condensed version of rock camp for adults

Hit up Jabroni Fest this weekend at 529 to see a wild twenty-three bands for $12—plus your $12 goes to support something truly awesome!
